Dark circles are also known as ‘’raccoon eyes’’ which is one of the common problems amongst all age groups now a days. Lifestyle for all age groups right from the school children till working women life has become quite stressful. Main reasons behind dark circles are lack of sleep, hectic work, and inadequate intake of nutrients. Even recent study has proved dark circles may be because of excessive smoking and drinking. Whatever the reason be, dark circles make your face look dull, aged and sick. The following are some tips that can be done at home to prevent and reduce dark circles.
1. CUCUMBER –
Cucumber is widely known home remedy for dark circles. Even the professionals use cucumber in beauty parlors for instant cooling effect. It increases the blood flow and reduces puffiness.
¸ Take small piece of cucumber and extract the juice.
¸ Immerse a cotton ball into the juice extracted and apply it around the eyes.
¸ Let it absorbed by the skin so leave it for 5 to 10 minutes.
¸ You can also keep slices of cucumber on your eyes.
2. RAW POTATO –
Potato is known to reduce dark spots, pigmentation in the skin. It also reduces puffiness of the eyes.
¸ Grate and extract the juice of a raw potato.
¸ Soak the cotton balls into it and apply it around the eyes.
¸ Rinse it off after 5 to 10 minutes.
¸ Potato slices can also be kept on the eyes.
3. TOMATO –
Tomatoes contain anti-oxidant which helps in skin lightening. It also prevents wrinkles.
¸ Make a paste of a small tomato.
¸ Mix it with half a tsp of lemon juice
¸ Apply it over the eyes and leave it for 15 minutes.
4. ROSE WATER –
This is the main ingredient in almost all face packs. It helps in reducing puffiness under the eyes.
¸ Dip cotton balls in pure rose water.
¸ Apply it under your eyes for a cooling and refreshing effect.
It immediately reduces puffiness under the eyes.
5. FENUGREEK SEEDS ( methi seeds) –
It contains high amount of vitamin c and protein which help in lightening the dark patches around the eyes.
¸ Soak 2 tsp of fenugreek seeds in water and keep it aside for 3 hours.
¸ Grind it after 3 hours to form a smooth paste.
¸ To this add a pinch of turmeric powder.
¸ Then add a tsp of raw milk and mix well.
¸ Apply this paste under the eyes and leave it for 15 minutes.
¸ Rinse it off with cold water.
I have mentioned all the tips that I have tried and have given better results than parlor treatment. As everyone know natural remedy need patience and they do not give instant result but be assured that results will show up with regular usage.
